HALESOWEN SCHOOLS SWIMMING FESTIVAL 2002

All local schools have been invited to participate in the Halesowen Primary Schools Swimming Festival. This event will be run as part of the Dudley Borough Festival Programme on the afternoon of Saturday June 22nd between 2pm and 5pm.

The Schools Swimming Gala is organised and run by Halesowen Swimming Club. Following consultation with local schools we changed the format last year to a fun gala for school teams to encourage maximum participation. The new festival programme will be repeated this year as it proved very popular and was greatly enjoyed by the pupils and schools who took part.

*The Festival will be held at Halesowen Leisure Centre

*All the Team events will be widths.

*All children taking part will receive an award.

*Each School receives an award - Top School presented with the Halesowen Schools Trophy.

*The programme will accommodate School Teams of between 8 and 18 swimmers.

There will also be a separate individual event for any better swimmers to swim 1 length freestyle. Pupils can participate individually even if a school is unable to take part in the team event.

We hope local schools will support this venture to promote swimming amongst local children, and would stress that the emphasis is encourage a many children as possible to take part. Halesowen Swimming Club will provide any assistance required to aid participation and to help at the festival. This will include a helper and a lifeguard for each school on the day.

Entry is FREE for participants and spectators and all children taking part will receive an award.
